COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 25,2000 PSA#2672 18 -- SPACE SHUTTLE ORBITER COCKPIT AVIONICS UPGRADES SYSTEM -- FLIGHT
SOFTWARE CBD -- Special Notice: United Space Alliance (USA), LLC,
prime contractor to NASA for Space Shuttle operations, through its
offices located in Houston, Texas, issued the Request for Interest
(RFI-Solicitation #USA-SSU-A02) on August 4, 2000, for the acquisition
of upgrades to the Space Shuttle Orbiter Cockpit Avionics System. This
acquisition is in support of USA's prime contract NAS9-20000 -- Space
Flight Operations Contract (SFOC) with the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space
Center (JSC) located in Houston, Texas. This Request for Proposal
(RFP-Solicitation #USA-CAU-0001) is to solicit offers for the
development of new flight software and the integration of that software
with the Avionics Upgrade hardware that is being procured by a separate
effort. The RFP is available electronically either in PDF or Word 95
