This is a combined synopsis/request for quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested, and a written RFQ will not be issued. There is no bid package or other additional information for this requirement that is not included in this notice; however a site visit is necessary in order to quote on this requirement. Required Delivery Date: within 30 days of date of award. Location: Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Patuxent River MD, Buildings 406,464, and 469. This is a 100% small business set-aside, and the applicable SIC code is 5713 Floor Covering Stores, with a small business size standard of $5.0 million. RFQ # N00421-00-Q-0490. The requirement exists for new carpet installation in the hallways and stairs of buildings 406 and 464 and in the lounge area of building 469. The requirement is for removal and destruction of the old carpet and padding and purchase and installation of new carpet and padding, with all necessary material and labor included. Carpet must be polypropylene 26-oz. graphic loop commercial carpet of mid-grade quality level with " rubber pad (separate or attached to carpet). Color of carpet to match as closely as possible existing carpet colors as determined by customer. Supply and install cove base where applicable. Customer is responsible for removing all furniture and other items. Prospective contractors wishing to provide a quote in response to this RFQ shall call Ms. Cheri Williams at 301-863-3629 to arrange a site visit. The government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract for commercial services/supplies, and the award will be made on the basis of Lowest Cost Technically Acceptable. Contractors who provide a quote in response to this request should quote based on a firm fixed price that includes all materials and labor necessary to perform the work. Please detail your quote breakdown by building, by square footage/yardage, and by all materials and labor included and provided, in order to ensure that all aspects of this requirement are addressed and accounted for. The provisions and clauses at FAR 52.212-1 apply, except that there is an addendum to paragraph (h) in that this will be a single award. The following provisions and clauses also apply: FAR 52.212-3,52.212-4, 52.212-5, 52.232-33, 52.237-1, DFARS 252.204-7004, 252.212-7000, 252.212-7001, and 252.225-7001.
