Officer, fischere@csosa.fed.us. WASHINGTON DC AREA: The Court Services
and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) for the District of Columbia,
intends to issue under full and open competitive procedures, a
solicitation for electronic monitoring hooks-up for offenders of CSOSA,
who reside in the District of Columbia. The Contractor shall furnish
the necessary personnel, material, services and facilities, and any
other products or services necessary to support this program. At a
minimum, the Contractor will need to be located within the DC Metro
area and be able to provide the following services and equipment: 1)
Provide the electronic monitoring equipment (tools) to accommodate
offenders occupying approximately 500 slots for FY 2001; 2) Provide
electronic monitoring equipment that complies with all standards set
within that industry; 3) Make arrangements with offenders to Install
and/or remove electronic monitoring equipment in the homes of
offenders, DC correctional facilities or locations as indicated by
CSOSA; 4) Make home visits to the offender residence for
troubleshooting and maintenance of the equipment as needed; 5) Comply
with CSOSA reporting requirements concerning curfew violations,
equipment malfunctions or tampering and progress reports; 6) Employ
qualified and certified technicians; 7) Communicate with offenders and
their families about the electronic monitoring service; 8) Make court
appearances; 9) Comply with special notification procedures for high
profile cases or other situations that may require special attention as
defined by CSOSA. The period of performance of this requirement will be
60 months, to include a base year plus four one-year option periods.
Award will only be made to one company or institution under this
solicitation. Estimated issue date is September 08, 2000, with a due
date for receipt of proposals 30 days after issuance. Interested firms
