Specialist,202-307-0985 The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has identified a
need to establish a contract for radio communication repair and
maintenance services to support the critical operation of its
subscriber communications assets. The contractor must provide parts and
labor required to return defective radio equipment back to proper
operating condition. The contract must cover base station
infrastructure, portable, mobile, and consolette products utilized by
our locations. The contractor will primarily act in three different
capacities for the Federal Bureau of Prisons concerning the Radio
System Infrastructure: (1) For performance of schedule and corrective
maintenance and realignment of system data and audio linkages, (2) As
troubleshooters on systems with unique problems, and to support system
response actions to outages as directed by the BOP, and (3) To provide
on-site analysis and corrective actions on database or radio
operations, maintenance, and administration command features set
functions. The contractor shall also provide Subscriber Repair Services
at a centralized service center. This solicitation is unrestrictive
with a Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) of 3663. The
estimated quantity for this contract is as follows: Base Year: Line
Item 0001 maintenance for the Handheld radios, Est. QTY 18,000 EA; Line
Item 0002 maintenance for the Mobile radios, Est. QTY 600 EA; and Line
Item 0003 Field Service Technician for the Radio System Infrastructure
services, 2,016 Est. hours. Option Year One: Line Item 0001 maintenance
for the Handheld radios, Est. QTY 18,250 EA; Line Item 0002 maintenance
for the Mobile radios, Est. QTY 600 EA; and Line Item 0003 Field
Service Technician for the Radio System Infrastructure services, 2,016
Est. hours. Option(s) Two through Four: Line Item 0001 maintenance for
the Handheld radios, Est. 18,500 EA; Line Item 0002 maintenance for the
Mobile radios, Est. QTY 600 EA; and Line Item 0003 Field Service
Technician for the Radio System Infrastructure services, Est. hours
2,016. The estimated date of issuance of the solicitation will be
September 7, 2000. All proposals are due by 2:00 P.M., Eastern Standard
