58 -- HARRIS AN/PRC 138 EMBEDDED TYPE I COMSEC, ENCRYPTED RADIO Notice to negotiate with the Harris RF Communication's Corporation, Rochester N.Y. to extend logistics, maintenance support, COMSEC upgrade kits and the ordering period for the AN/PRC 138, embedded type I COMSEC, encrypted radio. Harris Corporation is the only known source capable of providing embedded COMSEC radios and COMSEC upgrade kits to retrofit fielded Special Operations Forces radios. The extenstion will add five additional years of logistics support and a four year radio ordering period. This notice may constitute the only official notice of this action. This is not a request for quotes, however, all information received by 11 September 2000 will receive consideration by the Government. The decision not to compete this action is solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
