S-LMAQM-00-R-0122 which appeared in the CBD on August 2, 2000. This notice serves as the official modification to subject solicitation and a written modification will not be issued. Companies shall acknowledge all modification(s) in their offer. The purpose of this modification is to provide answers to questions received from prospective offerors. Question 1: For the Option 51C, 61C, and 81C upgrades, we need the CPU and network Layout (Cards and Version). Answer. The information can be received from Nortel by utilizing the switch type (51C, etc.) and the serial number of the switch. Question 2: For the Option 11E, we need a complete Bayface Layout. Answer. This information is not available. Question 3: Is this bid for drop ship only? If installation is required, we will need the locations of all the systems. Answer. The line items will be drop shipped only. In modification 1 to Request for Proposal published in Commerce Business Daily on August 9, 2000, offerors were advised that the Department of State will be responsible for the installation of the line items. Question 4: Does the State Department plan to connect the Group 3 Norstar replacement equipment to a PBX in each proposed location? Answer. No, Norstar equipment is planned as replacement for Manufacturer discontinued equipment. Question 5: What plans has the State Department made for installation and maintain of the proposed equipment? These services are not specified in the referenced solicitation? Answer. State Department will install and maintenance the systems with their own Nortel certified Technicians. The quantity of Group I line items have been changed from 94 items to 90 items. Group II line items have been increased from 83 to 97 items. In line item 17, the line was omitted and should read 002-1. Group III the line item 6, the component/part number should be LS/DS Analog Trunk Cartridges.
