The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport proposes to enter into a sole source contract with Science Applications International Corporation, Maripro Operations (SAIC/MariPro) to provide instrumentation upgrade to the South Underwater Training Range (SOUTH UTR). This upgrade will consists of two in-water hydrophone arrays, associated support electronics, integration of the system with the existing shore system, in-water installation of the system, training and spares. SAIC/MariPro is currently performing a partial replacement of the hydrophones and supporting shore electronics at the SOUTH UTR. This new instrumentation upgrade will complete the replacement of the remaining hydrophones. Installation of the upgrade will be 540 days after contract award. The Government intends to solicit a quotation from SAIC/MariPro and to award a Cost Plus Incentive/Fixed Price Incentive contract. SAIC/MariPro is the only know company that can perform this upgrade because of the extensive integration work required to integrate the shore system into the existing range hardware and the company proprietary interfaces to the existing UCS and signal processors.
