draft specification of Solid State Loran Transmitters. In accordance
with subject specification, the requirement of this acquisition is to
provide up to thirty-one (31) Loran-C transmitters to replace
AN/FPN-44, AN/FPN-45, and AN/FPN-64/64A series Loran-C transmitters
presently in the U.S. Coast Guard inventory. Documentation, spare
parts, and specialized installation materials for the installation of
new transmitters and the de-installation of the existing transmitters
are also required. The replacement transmitters shall fully integrate
into existing Coast Guard Loran-C transmitting stations and with
existing Coast Guard transmitting antennae, timing equipment, and
remote monitoring and control systems and equipment. Additionally,
management, supervision, personnel, labor, installation material,
hardware, tools, test equipment, and any external storage trailers or
containers are required to successfully install the new Loran-C
Transmitter systems and deinstall existing Tube-Type Transmitter (TTX)
or Solid-State Transmitter (SSX) systems at various locations. Onsite
operator and maintenance training and extended warranty repair for the
newly installed transmitter systems shall be required. The draft
specification will be posted on the Loran Support Unit (LSU) Internet
site at http://www.uscg.mil/hq/lsu/webpage/LRP/xmtrspec.htm. It is the
firm_s responsibility to routinely monitor this site and/or the CBD
for the release of the draft specification. Interested parties are
strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with features of the EPS,
including its Acquisition Notification services. Potential offerors are
responsible for downloading their own copy of the draft specification.

the draft specification document posted on the LSU website. Comments on
the draft specification shall be submitted not later than 07 SEP 2000
