Acquisition is to provide up to thirty-one (31) Loran-C transmitters
to replace AN/FPN-44, AN/FPN-45, and AN/FPN-64/64A series Loran-C
transmitters presently in the U.S. Coast Guard inventory, in accordance
with a performance base Specification. Documentation, spare parts, and
specialized installation materials for the installation of new
transmitters and the de-installation of the existing transmitters are
also required. The replacement transmitters shall fully integrate into
existing Coast Guard Loran-C transmitting stations and with existing
Coast Guard transmitting antennae, timing equipment, and remote
monitoring and control systems and equipment. Additionally, management,
supervision, personnel, labor, installation material, hardware, tools,
test equipment, and any external storage trailers or containers are
required to successfully install the new Loran-C Transmitter systems
and deinstall existing Tube-Type Transmitter (TTX) or Solid-State
Transmitter (SSX) systems. On-site operator and maintenance training
and an extended warranty (10 years) for the newly installed transmitter
systems shall be required. Delivery is FOB Destination to various USCG
Loran Stations. Potential offerors are invited and urged to
participate in the on-site visit of the existing configuration of
Loran-C Transmitter at U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station George, 1381 Road
_L_ SW, QUINCY, WA 98848-8862, 03 OCT 2000, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
(Local Time). Offerors may visually inspect the existing space and
system regarding the requirement to be performed in accordance with
Specification. This will be the only site visit, therefore all
potential offerors are welcome to attend. All travel related expenses
for this site visit shall be the Offeror_s responsibility. Any
questions regarding the site visit shall be directed to Mrs. Baskin.
POTENTIAL OFFERORS INTERESTED IN THE ON-SITE VISIT SHALL CONFIRM THEIR
ATTENDANCE WITH MRS. BASKIN at (202) 267-2014 or fax (202) 267-4475,
not later than 2:00 P.M. ON 27 SEPTEMBER 2000. THIS IS STRICTLY A SITE
VISIT, NOT A QUESTION AND ANSWER SESSION. ALL QUESTIONS, CONCERNS OR
CLARIFICATIONS MUST BE IN WRITING AND SUBMITTED TO THE CONTRACTING
OFFICER. ALL RESPONSES WILL BE IN THE FORM OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE
