The Acquisition Management Department of the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC)has a requirement for the Malaria Research Program, Naval Medical Research Center Bldg. 503, Forney Drive (WRAMC Annex), Silver Spring, MD 20910. NNMC intends to award a sole sourced purchase order to Biomedical Research Institute (BRI), l2111 Parklawn Drive, Rockville, MD 20852 for the following: Rental and maintenance thereof, of five (5) -70C freezers (BRI owned) and storage, inventory services, and maintenance of two (2)LN2 and one (1)-70C freezers (Navy owned). This includes the organization and tracking of biological specimens contained in these units. Due to insufficient space at the WRAMC Annex, this facility provides ready access by Government personnel to specimens stored there. Award will be made in the form of a purchase order for a base year period of one (1)year effective 1 October 2000 through 30 September 2001 with one (1)year option. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under the guidelines as set forth in the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Award will be contingent upon availability of FY01 funding.
