The Department of the Army, TACOM-ARDEC at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ intends to procure technical services for Project Manager for Mines, Countermines and Demolitions(PM-MCD)for an explosive initiating device to replace the current MCCM initiator. The new initiator must be physically interchangeable with the current MCCM initiator but will not contain any primary explosive materials, such as lead azide etc. The proposed initiator must be compatible will all current Army demolition systems such as shock tube and electric blasting machines and capable of detonating all current military explosives. Two separate devices may be proposed to accommodate electric and non-electric initiation. The contractor shall support two (2) meetings at their plant and two (2) meetings at TACOM-ARDEC.
