757-878-5223 X-242 This is a Sources Sought notice for an IR Strobe
light. The light shall have the following characteristics: Operates in
two modes; red strobe and a Night Vision Goggle compatible IR strobe;
The light intensity and flashing frequency/pattern should be
controlled from a panel located in the cockpit; The strobe light can be
either a replacement to the red strobe position light or mounted over
the red strobe without interfering with its operation or intensity; It
shall provide programmed flash rates in excess of 60 Hz, light
intensity adjustable, required MTBF of 1000 FH, and an objective of
2000 FH, system weight no greater than 35 lbs, with an objective weight
of 20 lbs; The light shall not be visible to the naked eye at distances
greater than 130 feet and will use 28 VDC and the same electric
connections as the red strobe position light mounted on the MH-47
helicopter. This is an open continuous sources sought announcement. A
