This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The requirements for the laser are as follows: One (1) each of the following: Diode-pumped, pulsed Nd:YLF laser 527 nanometer wavelength output Variable power output, with maximum output >=20 millijoules @ 1 kHz Variable, triggered output from 500 hertz to 4 kHz Beam diameter <5 millimeters Beam pulse width <250 nanoseconds Beam divergence <100 milliradians Smooth beam profile without hotspots(>10% above interior points) No external cooling water required Compact, 120 VAC power supply and chiller < 10 cubic feet in size total, <30 amps total The desired laser is a Positive Light Evolution X30, scientific version. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-17. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3674 and 500 employees, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery to the Glenn Research Center is required within 90 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
