Patricia Jones, 925/803-2780 The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Western
Regional Office is seeking an Instructor to provide Computer Vocational
Training to the inmate population at the Federal Correctional
Institution/Federal Prison Camp, 37900 N. 45TH Ave., Dept 1680,
Phoenix, AZ 85027-7000. The services shall required Monday through
Friday except Federal Holidays at both location. Instruction shall be
provided from7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and from 12:00 p.m to 3:30 p.m.
The above cited schedule may be subject to change depending on the
needs of the Bureau of Prisons. The Vocational Training (VT) Program
shall be taught in Computer Refurbishing, which will give the inmate
students marketable skills in the refurbishment of IBM clone (or
equivalent) based personal computer (PC) systems. Classroom and lab
instruction shall provide students with a working knowledge of basic
software programs (e.g. DOS, MS Windows and networking) and other
related diagnostic programs and equipment. Supplemental instruction
will include related subject matter consistent with the technology of
computer refurbishing. Upon completion of the training, students should
be proficient at configuring, building, and refurbishing IBM-clone (or
equivalent) based PC systems including initial
determination/troubleshooting of hardware and software problems. The
Instructor must be listed in the Accredited Institution of
Post-Secondary Education and/or designated eligible by the United
States Department of Education. The Instructor must be accredited by
the Western Association of Schools and Colleges or an equivalent
committee from another district. The anticipated ate of award is Oct
01, 2000. The anticipated period of performance is as follows: Base
Year: Date of award through 12 months from award date; Option Year 1:
13 months from date of award through 24 months from date of award;
Option Year 2: 25 months from date of award through 36 months from
award date; Option Year 3: 37 months from date of award through 48
months from award date; Option year 4: 49 months from date ofaward
through 60 months from award date. All responsible sources may submit
