Description

The government intends to negotiate a firm fixed price contract for the procurement of a split bow sheave weldment for the USNS Zeus, a cable laying and repairing vessel, through full and open competition. This replacement sheave is wider than the original to handle the overboarding of more equipment and split to handle two-way traffic. Potential offerors are hereby notified that this procurement will be conducted in accordance with the policies and procedures outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation subpart 13.5 test program for the simplified acquisition of commercial items. The SIC code is 3731. The fabrication of the split bow sheave and associated components must be in accordance with detail drawings, which will be made available to interested offerors upon written request.
