Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number N00164-00-Q-0282 is hereby issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18 and DCN 20000627. The Standard Industrial Classification Code for this procurement is 3679 and the size standard is 500 employees. This requirement is for the following: CLIN 0001 Hot-pluggable, industry-standard shortwave optical Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) non-Open Fibre Control (OFC). This shortwave optical GBIC requires a media transmission range of 500m (1,640 ft.); a wavelength of 850nm; and a Data Rate of 1062 MBd or greater. CLIN 0002 Hot-pluggable, industry-standard longwave optical GBIC non-OFC. This longwave optical GBIC requires a media transmission range of 10km (6.2 mi.); a wavelength of 1310 nm; and a Data Rate of 1062 MBd or greater. A basic quantity of 32 each and an option quantity of 18 each are needed for CLINs 0001 and 0002 in this procurement. Both the longwave and the shortwave GBICs must be compatible with the QLogic Corp. (formerly known as Ancor Communications, Inc.) SANbox-8 Fibre Channel Switch. Delivery is required F.o.B. Crane, IN 47522 within 90 days after award. Final inspection will be at NSWC Crane, IN. Selection for award will be based on low cost technically acceptable offer. Quotes that are non-compliant with any material requirement of this solicitation may be rejected without further consideration for award. This will be a firm-fixed-price contract and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of commercial sale warranty provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government. The offeror shall provide its Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, Contractor Establishment Code and Tax Identification Number.
