Description

Background "This procurement is for: The hardware to support the wiring of the Test Article Control System for the PWT 16S Wind Tunnel. The 16S Test Article Control System (TACS) will be mounted in an environmental enclosure on the 16S removable test cart. This environmental enclosure has the proper controls to maintain an environment that will protect the 16S TACS computer & instrumentation hardware from the plenum pressures and temperatures. The feedthru hardware on this procurement provides a sealed, leak free method of getting the wiring from external devices and systems into the 16S TACS environmental enclosure. The feedthru hardware allows the interfacing of the wiring from external devices & systems to the 16S TACS hardware & instrumentation inside the environmental enclosure. The existing 16 T Test Article Control System environmental enclosure design is being utilized for the fabrication of the 16S Test Article Control System environmental enclosure. Since the items which this procurement provices is the interface between connections in the Hoffman box and the Test Article Control System Computer control hardware & instrumentation that resides inside the environmental sealed (Hermitic) enclosure, the purchased feedthru hardware must be identical to that utilized on the existing 16T environmental enclosures. Also, the purchased feedthru hardware must be compatible with the existing 16T invironmental enclosure hardware design. No other vendors ar known to provice sthe identical feedthru. Douglas Engineering is the only known supplier for the required materials.Authority 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C) (1). This synopsis is approved for a sole source contract action as authorized in FAR 6.302-1 (supplies or services are considered to be available from only one source). No solicitation package will be issued. However, all interested sources may identify their interest but must provide proof of capability to provide an acceptable product by submitting pricing data, an accurate description of the equipment offered and make and model numbers of the equipment. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses received by close of business 10 days from the date this notice appears in the CBD, a contract will be negotiated with the above named source.
