Description

Fiber Optic Cable and Strands. Specifications (i.e., cable diameter, fiber strands, etc.) are not available at this time and will be provided at a later date to be determined. Fiber optic cable and strands only, NO INSTALLATION is required. This acquisition may be awarded under 8(a) competitive procedures or as a small business set aside depending upon the responses received back to this notice. ALL businesses are encouraged to respond to this notice. The Standard Industry Classification (SIC) is 3357. The acquisition will be solicited in accordance with (IAW) FAR Part 12-Acquisition of Commercial Items. Performance Price Tradeoff (PPT) procedures may be utilized IAW with FAR Part 15. The government will make a BEST VALUE determination in making award. MODIFICATION #1 -- FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY, THE KNOWN REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS PROJECT ARE CURRENTLY AS FOLLOWS: 1) Fiber optical ground wire (OPGW); 2) 108-strand fiber-optic cable as a minimum; 3) Estimated quantity is approximately 90 kilometers (56) miles with a maximum of 10-12 splices; and 4) Miscellaneous parts/equipment associated with splices. ONLY THOSE SOURCES WHO HAVE THE CAPABILITY OF TO MEET THE ABOVE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS SHOULD REPLY TO THE POINTS OF CONTACT (POCs) IDENTIFIED IN THIS NOTICE IF THEY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. A FORMAL SOLICIATION WILL FOLLOW AT A LATER DATE.
