Description

The National Imagery and Mapping Agency intends to award a sole source procurement to Image Interpretation Systems, Inc., Rochester, NY, for the purchase of up to 25 Zoom-500 stereoscopes, pending availability of funds. The stereoscopes will be used with the Richards HFO-4 light-table. They provide monoscopic and stereoscopic analysis capability with continuously variable magnification zoom capability up to 300x magnifications. The zoom can be varied in unison or independently for matching in up to 6:1 scale differential between images. Rotating rhomboid arms accommodate the image separations on most commonly used film. Offers a wide variety of interchangeable lenses to accommodate the type of imagery being examined and task being performed. Permits the use of existing NIMA parts inventory for maintenance, repair, and the interchange of special purpose lenses since NIMA is currently using over 680 of these stereoscopes. This is a synopsis of intent to award a firm fixed price contract under FAR Part 12 -- Commercial Items. The authority for sole source procurement is FAR 6.302-1(a), 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Responsible sources that are interested in this procurement may respond by providing clear and convincing information that identifies their ability to provide the product.
