SUBJECT: 66 Amersham Pharmacia Biotech, Inc., (S)AKTAFPLC System with 1 10 ml Superloop, 1 50 ml Superloop and 1 Unicorn Analysis Module 3.0 SOL 64PP-0-0033 DUE 09/20/00 DESC: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; Quotations (RFQ) are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as Request for Quotation number 64PP0-0033. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular number 97-19. SIC code is 3826 and the size standard is 500 employees. Offerors are to propose prices for the following: CLIN (Contract Line Item Number ) 0001: 1 each Amersham Pharmacia Biotech, Inc., (S)AKTAFPLC System. 0002: 1 10 ml superloop. 0003: 1 50 ml superloop, 0004: 1 each unicorn analysis module 3.0. Salient characteristics: Computer controlled biocompatible, high-performance liquid chromatograpy system for purification of proteins with a flow rate of 0.05-20ml/min; a pressure range of 0-5 MPa (50 bar, 725 psi); a wavelength selection of 254, 280, 313, 405, 436, 546 nm (with Hg lamp), 214nm (with Zn lamp); a conductivity range of 1 uS/cm-999.9 mS/cm (RPC -- IEX -- HIC gradients) and a pH range 0-14. Size is 380W x 480D x 470H mm and weighs 50 kg. Items to be quoted as brand name or equal. Offerors of products other than the brand name must submit data to show that their products are the equal of the brand. The evaluation factors for award listed above shall be considered equally, with no one element being weighted more than the other. Equipment will be shipped FOB Destination to USDA-ARS-MWA, Plant Genetics Research Unit, 312 Curtis Hall, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO 65211.
