- SUBJECT: 66 -- Bio-Tek Instruments, Inc., Synergy KC4 Package and 1 labrack SOL 64PP-0-0034 DUE 09/20/00 DESC: This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice constitutes the only solicitation; Quotations (RFQ) are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as Request for Quotation number 64PP0-0034. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular number 97-19. SIC code is 3826 and the size standard is 500 employees. Offerors are to propose prices for the following : CLIN (Contract Line Item Number) 0001: 1 each Bio-Tek Instruments, Inc. , Synergy KC4 Package to include 1 FLX800TBE fluorescence reader with top & bottom probe, extended range, 1 MQX200 Microplate Spectrophotometer. 0002: 1 KC4 Software. 0003: 1 labrack. Salient characteristics: Computer controlled system with a Microplate Fluorescence Reader with microplates of 6-,12-, 24-, 48-, 96- and 384 -well and tubes; a reading mode of fluorescence with luminescence capability; a filter capacity of up to 4 each on excitation and emission filter wheel cartridges; excitation range of 300-650nm; an emission range of 340-650nm; a dynamic range of 0 -- 99,999; sensitivity (top) of 160 pg/ml methylumbelliferone or 0.13 picomoles per well; sensitivity (bottom) of 10 pg/ml sodium fluorescein or 3.9 femtomoles per well; probes are custom made mapped' grid bifurcated 3mm top, 5mm bottom; software controlled switching from top to bottom probe and back, light source is Quartz Halagen, 1000 hour life; display is 2 x 24 characters LCD; software is on board customizable; program capacity of 55 programmable protocols (up to 75 custom programs) and 8 assay results stored on board ; curve fits are linear regression, polynomial, point to point, cubic spline and 4 parameter logistic curve fits; 24V external transformer power supply; size is 16" D x 15.5" W x 9" T; Weight 30 lb. The Universal Microplate Spectrophotometer has an optical density OD range of 0-4; wavelength range of 200-999 nm; a bandpass of 2.4 nm, wavelength accuracy of +/- 2 nm; wavelength repeatibility of +/- 0.2 nm; accuracy of +/- 1%, +/- 0.010 ABS from 0-2.000 ABS; linearity of +/- 1% from 0.2.000 ABS; repeatability of +/- 1%, +/- 0.005 ABS from 0.2.000 ABS; Xenon flash light source. Items to be quoted as brand name or equal. Offerors of products other than the brand name must submit data to show that their products are the equal of the brand. The following FAR provisions and clauses apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial; 52.212-2, Evaluation -- Commercial Items; 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications- Commercial Items; 52.214-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; and 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. The evaluation factors for award listed above shall be considered equally, with no one element being weighted more than the other. Offers must include completed FAR 52.212-3, and a commercial warranty for equipment. Equipment will be shipped FOB Destination to USDA-ARS-MWA, Plant Genetics Research Unit, 202 Curtis Hall, University of Missouri, Columbia, MO 65211. Quotation Price must include any freight or shipping. Offer must include a 30 calendar day acceptance period.
