Description
The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) plans to award a contract to Boston College to upgrade the current 5x5 degree (~500x500 km) geographic resolution model in use at the Prototype International Data Centre (PIDC) of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) to a 1x1 degree (~100x100 km) resolution. This effort is for the development of an improved global surface wave model for use in monitoring underground nuclear tests. The contract period of performance is anticipated to extend from on or about 1 October 2000 through 30 September 2001. DTRA believes that Boston college is the only contractor capable of accomplishing this effort in a timely and cost effective manner based on their unique expertise in the theoretical methods needed resulting from their role in developing the 5x5 model. See Note 22. Any other firm desiring consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this requirement. Any questions concerning this contemplated contract award may be addressed to HQ, Defense Threat Reduction Agency, ATN: Mr. Edward B. Hale, Jr. (AMO), 45045 Aviation Drive, Dulles, VA 20166-7517, fax 703-801-4675.
