Description

Notice of intent to negotiate a sole-source contract with the Pacific/Northwest Gigapop (P/NWGP) University of Washington (UW) for the Pacific Marine Environmental Lab (PMEL). Purpose of contract is to provide connectivity through the P/NWGP infrastructure to all other P/NW members (including PMEL) and the high performance Abilone network. PMEL/NOAA is participating agency in the City of Seattle inter-agency agreement for sharing fiber cable projects. The P/NEGP currently has dark fiber strands in place from the P/NWGP in downtown Seattle directly to PMEL's location. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
