Description

A -- ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION -- CONTAINMENT AND STABILIZATION. This is a potential technology development and licensing opportunity with Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC (BBWI), the prime operating contractor for the Department of Energy at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). BBWI has developed new technology concepts relating to containment and stabilization of buried waste and contaminated soil. Examples include: an in-situ barrier technology for constructing a barrier under the waste, contaminated soil, or area of interest without excavating it, and an embedded sensor technology which can be integrated into barrier emplacement techniques for barrier verification and long-term monitoring purposes. BBWI is seeking a written indication of interest from industry partners who would consider significantly funding the INEEL to perform collaborative technology development and entering into a royalty-bearing license agreement for the purpose of developing and commercializing one or more of these technologies. This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to BBWI or the Department of Energy. This Request for Interest (RFI) will close to response 15 days after publication.
