Description

NASA/GRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Qty. 1 Internet Security Systems (ISS) Safesuite Decisions Software-Small Site Deployment. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from: Internet Security Systems (ISS), 11491 Sunset Hills Road, Suite 310, Reston, VA 20190-0000. THE AUTHORITY FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(2). Safesuite Decisions (SSD) is a tool that works with other IT Security Tools used at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). The Agency Standard Scanning solution is ISS Internet Scanner. NASA GRC is required to use this tool to check for specific vulnerabilities across the lab. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on Monday, September 11, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
