Description

The Federal Bureau of Prisons is seeking sources capable of providing electric utility services for the proposed facility, Federal Correctional Instituiton (FCI) that will be located north of the City of Bennettsville, Marlboro County, South Carolina. The newly constructed FCI will include housing to accommodae approximatley 1,500 inmaes, and will include warehouse space and other generic institutional elements. Electric service shall be available for testing, with a connection by January 1, 2003. Permanent electrical service is required for use by July 1, 2003. The Contractor shall furnish to the FCI a 12,470 volts, 3 phase, 4 wire, wye, 60 Hertz, service capable of serving an estimted connected load of 5,000 KW and an estimated demand load of 4,450 KW. Annual usage is estimated at 15,500,000 kWh. The Contractor shall provide metering station capable of monitoring the electricity consumption of the FCI. The metering station shall include all equipment, switches, disconnects, pad, cable, conduit, meter and meter housing necessary to accomplish this requirement. The Contractor shall deliver the required electrical service to the FCI through electric meter(s) at the point of connection. Contractors capable of providing electric service to the FCI, should submit information to Contracting Officer no later than September 18, 2000 to the following address: Federal Bureau of Prisons, Procurement and Property Branch, Construction Contracting Section, 320 First Street, N.W., Room 5-006, Washington, D.C. 20534, Attention: Verna D.
