Description

The Air Force is requesting quotations for the Repair of steam lines to building 1548 at Hanscom AFB, MA. The scope of this project consists of the furnishing all services, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation necessary to accomplish all work to repair the steam and condensate lines, located in a shallow tunnel, feeding Building 1548. This includes, but is not strictly limited to removal of the tunnel covers, removal of all existing insulation, replacing existing condensate piping in same size, replacing all insulation, removing and disposing of any asbestos, replacing any pipe hangers out of repair, hydrostatic testing new piping, and reinstalling covers and resealing same. The magnitude of this project is between $50,000 and $75,000. The period of performance for this project will be 30 calendar days. The solicitation, specifications, and drawings for this project will ONLY be available at Internet address: http://www.herbb.hanscom.af.mil These items will not be mailed, and telephone requests will not be honored. Further information will be available at a later date. All interested parties MUST be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) Database in order to receive a solicitation or award. If you submit a quote without being registered, it will be deemed unacceptable and not eligible for award. Tentatively, the RFQ will be released on or about 13 Sep 00, site visit on 18 Sep 00, and due date on 22 Sep 00. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after receipt of quotations, with no obligation to the offeror by the Government. FUNDS are currently not available for this requirement. Offerors are advised that the cost of any response is at the offeror's own risk. Unless funds are made available for this requirement, no contract will be awarded. An Acquisition Ombudsman, Colonel Joseph Magnone, Director, Commander's Staff, has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during proposal development.
