Description
The U.S. Army intends to award a contract, 100% small business set aside, for the purchase of PA161 containers to be used in the MACS program. The PA161 containers are the shipping and storage containers used for the Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS). The MACS propelling charges are two different propelling charges designed and developed at Picatinny Arsenal which provide a complete zoning solution for 155MM artillery applications by using multiples of a basic increment. The containers were developed to protect the MACS charges throughout the Army's stringent logistic environments and have design features which improve the insensitive munitions characteristics for the MACS system. CONTAINER QUANTITY/DELIVERY SCHEDULE The basic contract will consist of 50,200 -- 65,200 PA161 containers which will be required 180 days after contract award. There will be an option in the contract for an additional 25,100 -- 37,600 PA161 containers to be delivered 180 days after the option is exercised. The containers will be delivered to the LAP contractor, to be determined. (Reference Notes 1 & 26)
