Description

The Presidio Trust, a Federal government corporation, is soliciting proposals from qualified firms to perform tree transplanting services at various locations on the Presidio of San Francisco. The Presidio is a National Park and a National Historic Landmark. Scope of services will include tree removal, transportation, transplanting and related services. Specific sites may require either the use of a tree spade or manual digging. Trees may either be immediately transplanted on the Presidio or boxed and stored on the Presidio for later use. Contractor will provide irrigation for stored trees. The Trust anticipates awarding an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with a base term plus option years. The initial task order anticipated is for moving and transplanting of approximately 50-60 large specimen existing trees at the Letterman Hospital Complex site. Tentative start date October 2000. Davis Bacon Act (U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage rates) applies. Proposals will be evaluated based on criteria set forth in the Request for Proposals (RFP), which may include but are not limited to: Proposed Price; Specialized Experience with projects of similar scope; Past Performance; Proposed Project Approach; and Capacity to meet the Trust's schedule. Minimum qualifications include: valid ISA Certified Arborist Certification; current contractor's license; Certificate of Insurance; and bonding capacity. A MANDATORY site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Meet at the main entrance to LAIR Building 1110 (south of YMCA pool & tennis courts, north of Letterman Hospital). Only those firms attending this mandatory site visit may submit proposals. Interested, qualified firms may request "RFP-2000-024" by fax to Barbara D. RFP will be available at the mandatory site visit or earlier. Proposal due date will be stated in the RFP. DATES ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE. Qualified small businesses are encouraged to respond. The Trust strongly encourages contractors to utilize small businesses, SDBs and women-owned small businesses to the fullest extent consistent with efficient contract performance. The Presidio Trust is a wholly owned federal government corporation and is not subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
