Description

Sale of selected pine and hardwood timber in Record Units #21, #39, and #46 as specified in the Special Conditions of Sale. The sale consists of approximately 3,652 pine sawtimber trees containing an estimated 568,152 board feet Doyle Scale and 1,505 pine pulpwood trees containing as estimated 85 cords. The sale also includes approximately 81 hardwood sawtimber trees containing an estimated 7,417 board feet Doyle Scale and 100 hardwood pulpwood trees containing an estimated 3.7 cords. Log scales based on Form Class 80 for pine and Form Class 78 for hardwoods. The timber to be harvested is located on approximately 137 acres of the East Reservation, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Cutting to begin no later than 180 days after award with 365 days to complete removal after contract is awarded. Timber harvesting will not be allowed during the 15-day annual modern firearm deer-hunting season for Barksdale Air Force Base. Anticipated issue date is 20 October 2000; anticipated opening date 22 November 2000. A 10% bid deposit will be required. This agency will consider bids from all responsible sources.
