Description

ELECTRONIC RFP ANNOUNCEMENT-POTENTIAL OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE SOLICITATION AND ANY AMENDMENTS. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Office of Management, Technology Development & Commercialization Branch (TDCB), seeks a Contractor to perform Trademark Legal Advice services. The TDCB manages the trademark activities for the Public Health Service (PHS) The contractor shall perform varied trademark services ranging from searching for existing marks with senior rights, preparing and/or filing U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) trademark applications, preparing formal responses to PTO Office Actions, and preparing auxiliary documentation required by the PTO. The contractor shall provide assistance to the TDCB in its formal interactions with any foreign country's trademark office. The contractor shall review and edit draft documents and provide recommendations or comments on a proposed strategy or answer questions regarding points of law. The contractor shall provide full, detailed written opinions of counsel on important or complex aspects of law. The contractor shall negotiate licenses for use of marks. When changes in trademark law or procedures occur that will effect TDCB, the contractor shall provide training to the TDCB. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 8111. IT IS THE OFFERORS RESPONSIBILITY TO MONITOR THE ABOVE INTERNET SITE FOR THE RELEASE OF THE SOLICITATION AND ANY AMENDMENTS. The solicitation is expected to be issued on or about September 15, 2000. Proposals will be due approximately on October 16, 2000. No collect calls will be accepted.
