Description
NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Offer (RFO) for a miniaturized, low-voltage, three-axis flux-gate magnetometer to be flown aboard the six-month duration ST-5 Mission, also known as Nanosat Constellation Trailblazer (NCT). This synopsis provides notice of that upcoming issuance (which will be released on or about September 19, 2000), and also posts draft versions of the RFO, Statement of Work, Specification, Mission Assurance Requirements, and Component Test Requirements for the magnetometer. Comment on these draft documents by potential respondents is encouraged, and should be submitted in writing to James S. King at either the e-mail or mailing address provided below. Offers should NOT be submitted in response to this draft RFO/documentation posting. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3812 and 750 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-C9. The provisions and clauses in the RFO are those in effect through FAC 97-18. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about September 19, 2000 with an anticipated offer due date of on or about October 19, 2000. All qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, PowerPoint 4.0) format and will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
