Description

The United States Postal Service is soliciting proposals for sites or existing buildings in Hancock, NY 13783. The site size desired is between 76,140 and 130,680 square feet of land, excluding setbacks, easements, drainage and water retention, septic requirements and any other unusual conditions affecting development and use. The optimum site dimensions are 282 feet of frontage by 270 feet of depth. Requirements for existing buildings are 4,061 square feet of net interior space, 465 square feet of platform space, and 24,762 square feet of driveway, parking and maneuvering area. All sites within the preferred area will be considered; however, sites offered within the following boundaries will receive priority consideration: Within the downtown business district of the Village of Hancock with preference given to Main St. locations. Offers must be submitted on a USPS Assignable Option to Purchase Form, and shall provide a minimum of 9 months for acceptance of the offer. The successful location must be properly zoned, if applicable, for use as a post office, or must be capable of being rezoned for such use without delay of construction. Proposals will be received through October 6, 2000.
