Description

Notification of Amendment 1 to solicitation IFB 544-082-00 for Project 066-00-01, Clean and Reseal Building 100 located at the VA Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina. Contractor will provide all tools, labor, materials, permits, license and supervision to restore and renovate areas as indicated in drawings and specifications. SIC 1799. ADD: Using a cascading procurement strategy order, any award resulting from this solicitation will be made on a competitive basis to an eligible HUBZone business concern, provided that a minimum of two (2) competitive offers are received from an eligible HUBZone concern. If a minimum of two (2) offers from eligible HUBZONE concerns are not received, the award will be made on the basis of full and open competition from all among all responsible business concerns submitting offers pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, Designated Industry Groups. Bid opening date is changed to 3 pm local time, September 21, 2000. Work is to include cleaning of existing concrete, brick and glass surfaces and the addition of a water repellent treatment for existing vertical concrete and brick surfaces of Building 100. New work also includes the removal and disposal of existing vertical joint backer material and sealant and new installation of backer material and sealant for Building 100. The two-story primary care addition designated as Building 100A is excluded from this project. Completion time is within 120 days of the notice to proceed. The construction range is between $250,000 and $500,000. Drawings and specifications are available at a non-refundable cost of $30 per set by cashier's check, certified check or money order only. Make check or money order payable to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Do not send cash.
