Description

The Naval Air Systems Command will be soliciting the Boeing Company of Seattle, WA, on a sole source basis and in accordance with FAR Part 12 procedures, for the procurement of C-40 aircraft over a five year period starting in Fiscal Year 01 and ending in Fiscal Year 05. This sole-source requirement will be accomplished under FAR 6.302-1: Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The C-40 will be Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified, commercial-derivative cargo/transport aircraft that has been modified with Navy specific requirements. The period of performance will be an estimated contract date of award of 31 December 2000 through September 2006. Each fiscal year will be an option that may be exercised at the discretion of the Navy. The Navy will be able to purchase one aircraft per year with increase in quantity options for two additional aircraft beginning in Fiscal Year 02. In addition, the Contractor will provide interim contractor support through 31 March 04. This support will include such effort as training, site activitation, non-commercial spare parts, component repair, Field Service Reps, PSE repair, configuration management, modification integration, logistics support on-site for the second C-40 site and engineering support. It is planned that at the end of the interim contractor support period, NAVAIR will issue a competitive contract for Contractor Logistics Support.
