Description
This is a sources sought synopsis. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. This sources sought synopsis requests information needed by the Government prior to release of any potential solicitation. Details follow-please read this entire synopsis. OFFERORS MUST RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS CONTAINED (BELOW) IN THIS SYNOPSIS. This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The Naval Air Systems Command is seeking sources capable of providing approximately 265 torque indicators for the USMC HH/UH-1N aircraft. The new indicator must fit in the existing indicator position with no change to the instrument panel. The indicator must accept the existing analog torque signals from both of the engines and the transmission, digital input signal capability also desired. The indicator must display the torque for each engine individually and the combined engine (transmission) torque. Indicator must record torque and duration of multiple transmission over-torque events (excursions in excess of 100%). Recorded data must be retained upon power removal or interruption. The over-torque information is to be retrieved by maintenance personnel without any special tool/support equipment and be able to be reset manually. It must be night vision device (NVD) compatible and transmit analog torque indications to the existing aviator night vision imaging system (ANVIS) heads up display (HUD). The indicator must meet EMI requirements of MIL-STD-461E and environmental requirements of MIL-STD-810E.
