- Description
- This will be a RFQ for Dry-docking and Repair of two (2) Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet barges. The SSE-668 is an uncovered lighter barge of the U.S. Army type measuring approximately 110 feet in length, 32 feet in breath, drawing approximately two feet of water and displacing approximately 175 s/t. The FB-63 is a 260-foot barge of the U.S. Navy YFNB type used as a storage barge and workshop. Overall length including split pipes is approx. 162 feet; maximum beam at design waterline is approx. 48 feet; extreme Beam Molded (incl. Split Pipes) is approx. 49 feet, with an approximate draft of 6 feet;(max. navigable is 11 feet; light displacement is 1300 long tons; fullload displacement is 2580 long tons; height of Mast above Design Water line is 42 feet. Intent is to dry-dock the FB-63, abrasive grit blast and preserve the underwater hull surface, making repairs to deteriorated sections of the hull and perform general repairs. The contractor is to make all repairs necessary and shall provide all labor, material, equipment; make all removals and restoration; remove and replace interference's; rig and unrig; make all disassemblies and subsequent reassemblies to accomplish the work. Because the vessels are not considered deep-sea worthy all repair/upgrade work must be performed in the San Francisco Bay area, such area to include the up-river areas of Sacramento and Stockton. The vessels will be delivered to the contractor's work site by Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet personnel prior to the commencement of the work and picked up at the same facility upon completion of the work. Services are considered commercial and acquisition of the services will be prepared in accordance with FAR PART 12. Subpart 19.10 -- Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program requires the acquisitions not to be considered for small business set-asides under Subpart 19.5.
