Description
17. The National Park Service will soon be releasing a Concession Prospectus for the solicitation of offers authorizing continuation of commercial services within Crater Lake National Park. The business to be operated will consist of lodging, food services, campground, gasoline, retail merchandise, and boat tour services. This is primarily a seasonal operation and recent annual gross receipts for the past three years have ranged from 5.5 million to 6.1 million dollars. Due to its seasonal nature, the National Park Service seeks to provide potential offerors an opportunity to tour the existing operation facilities prior to the beginning of the winter season. This tour will be in advance of the release of the Prospectus. To enhance a better understanding of the condition of those buildings and facilities involved in this operation, the National Park Service will be providing a tour of those structures directly associated with the present concession operation. The Management Assistant, Mr. John R. Miele, at Crater Lake National Park will be conducting two walking tours of the buildings and facilities. The first tour is scheduled for September 20, 2000, and the second tour on September 21, 2000. All parties interested in participating in either tour of the buildings and facilities should contact Mr. John R. Miele, Management Assistant, at Crater Lake National Park at (541) 594-2211, press 2, enter ext.102, followed by the # sign. Address: Crater Lake National Park, P.O. Box 7, Crater Lake, Oregon, 97604. The National Park is planning to provide a visit of the facilities after the release of the Prospectus, but because of heavy snow in the winter season there will be no guarantee that all facilities can be thoroughly visited before submittals of offers are due by the closing date of the solicitation period.
