Description
Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision required to dredge the boat basin at U.S. Coast Guard Station Calumet Harbor, Chicago, IL. Basic Work Items: Remove approximately 3,250 CY of mixed clay, sand, silt, and gravel within area shown on drawings and dispose of material at the USACE Chicago Area Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) according to all local, state and federal regulations. Unit Work Item (to be priced separately): Remove an additional 100 CY of material consisting of mixed clay, sand, silt, and gravel within area shown on drawings and dispose of material at the USACE Chicago Area Confined Disposal Facility according to all local, state and federal regulations (up to 300 CY). The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code assigned to this project is 1629 (dredging). NOTE: To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. Estimated range of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Performance Period is 45 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP). Dredging operations to start on or around February 2001. Once dredging operation starts, the contractor must continue dredging until completion. This project is budgeted for award in the first quarter of fiscal year 2001; therefore it is subject to availability of funds. All relevant solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings shall be available for download exclusively from the Internet in approximately 15 days from the posting date of this presolicitation notice by accessing the U.S. Coast Guard Civil Engineering Unit Cleveland website at: http://www.uscg.mil/mlclant/ceucleveland or GSAs Electronic Posting System (EPS) website at: http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will be posted solely on these websites. NO DUE DATE FOR BIDS HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED YET. In accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, this procurement is open to both large and small businesses. The Department of Transportation (DOT), offers working capital financing and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts.
