Description

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst (NAWCADLKE) intends to procure on a soul-source basis a Battery Charger Set, Part Number 178AS1700, for use on the V-22 Aircraft because a requirement exists to check for stray voltages in paths of electrical currents which contain electrically initiated explosive Cartridge Actuated Devices (CAD). The Battery Charger Set meets the requirement for checking stray voltage. Melstrom Manufacturing Corp. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Battery Charger Set, Part Number 178AS1700, that will be used in the V-22 aircraft. Melstrom Manufacturing corp. is the only company with the requisite expertise, experience, and technical data to provide the Inserter and Remover tool. The Government is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price contract. The required delivery is March 31, 2001. The Battery Charger Set will be packaged in accordance with best commercial practices. Delivery shall be FOB Destination to Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ. The Government does not have the data rights. It would not be cost effective or possible for the government to provide to another contractor, the data that pertains to the Battery Charger Set or the knowledge and experience that resides at Melstrom Manufacturing Corp. Firms that recognize and can possibly produce these items are encouraged to identify themselves. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive proposal. A determination based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
