Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued Request for Quotation (RFQ No. NIA-00-JCC025). The solicitation clause and provisions are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for this acquisition is 3826. NIH/NIA Gerontology Research Center intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Applied Photophysics Limited, 203/205 Kingston Road, Leatherhead KT22 7PB, United Kingdom to purchase one (1) Model #SX.18MV Stopped-flow Reaction Analyser. This system will include comprehensive data acquisition and analysis software and a 32 bit RISC-processor workstation, SQ.1 Sequential mixing, installation and delivery. The vendor shall also provide a warranty on this system. The following FAR Provisions apply to this solicitation: 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors-Commercial; 52.212-2 Evaluation-Commercial Items. All offerors are to include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-1, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with their offer. The following FAR clauses apply to this acquisition: 52.212-4 Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items; 52.212-5 Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items; along with the following additional FAR clauses, cited in clause 52.215-5: 52.222-26 Equal Opportunity; 52.222-35 Affirmative Action for Special Disabled and Vietnam Era Veterns; 52.222-36 Affirmative Action for Handicapped Workers; 52.222-37 Employment Reports on Special Disabled Veterans and Veterans of the Vietnam Era; 52.225-3 Buy American Act-Supplies. The following provision also applies to this acquisition, 52.232-33 Mandatory Information for Electronic Funds Transfer Payment. An award will be made seven (7) days from the date of this notice 9/6/00, 5:00 PM Eastern Time to the above address. Sources may submit (via FAX 410-558-8319) descriptive literature which fully demonstrates that their product meets the brand name specification which shall be considered by this agency.
