Description

The US Dept of Veterans Affairs is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with Aladdin for the purchase of 3 each Ready 2 Dyne Refrigerated Retherm Ovens for the Milwaukee WI VA Medical Center. The equipment will permit VAMC Milwaukee to reduce labor costs by cooking food for medical center patients in advance and then reheating it when it is needed. This is considered to be a sole source because only the equipment from Aladdin has all the following features: holds food in refrigerated state until automatic retherm cycle begins which will allow loading on the prior evening; does not require changes in VA electrical service; fits into available space in kitchens; each oven has sufficient capacity for meals for all patients in each of three main dining areas. Other sources that believe they can meet VA needs must furnish product information and references to this office by no later than 4:30 PM on Sept 15.
