Description

This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is N66604-00-Q-6971. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the following items: One (1) Lot of Steel Sheet Piling. The following specifications defines the minimum requirements of steel to be used in the sheet piling of a fresh water lagoon at NUWC Seneca Lake Detachment: The piling shall have the capability of being interconnected; A total distance of 500 feet is to be piled; Steel Grade: A-572 Grade 50 or better; Thickness: 0.312 inches nominal minimum; Section Modulus: 16 inches cubed per linear foot of wall minimum; Moment of Inertia/pile: 170.0 minimum; Coating: None. Length per pile: 30 feet; Design Type: Z-shaped; Sheet Width: 20 inches minimum, 30 inches maximum; Handling Hole: One at each end of pile. Required delivery is 4 weeks after award, F.O.B. Destination NUWC Division, Seneca Lake, Dresden, NY. This acquisition is unrestricted. SIC Code is 3316; size standard is 1,000 employees. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial Items applies. Evaluation will be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation -- Commercial Items. Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past performance. Each is equally important. A completed copy of FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications -- Commercial Items must be submitted with quote. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions -- Commercial Items and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders -- Commercial Items, and DFARS 52.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders Applicable to Defense Acquisitions of Commercial Items apply.
