Description

The US Dept of Veterans Affairs is planning to negotiate a sole source contract with SRS Inc. for the purchase of Mumps Data Extractor (MDE) Software for Milwaukee WI VA Medical Center. It extracts Fileman-based VISTA data for use in a data warehouse/mart, relational system and application. This is considered to be a sole source for the following reasons: it is the only such product that is auto-installable and does not require additional purchase of installation and implementation services; it does not require a third party SQL product to be purchased and added as another layer of technology on top of Fileman; it does not require use of SQL mappings; it does not require the services of an M/Cache programmer; it does not require any M/Cache programming to implement, use or support; it is the only product that natively reads/understands the Fileman-based VISTA data structures. Other sources that believe they can meet VA needs must furnish product information and references to this office by no later than 4:30 PM on Sept 15.
