Description

The US Army Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, has a requirement for the renovation of three test chamber refrigeration boxes. The Contractor shall install in each box a new split system, water cooled air conditioning unit that is capable of reducing dry bulb conditions in the box from 80 degrees Fahrenheit down to 32 Fahrenheit within 3 hours. The refreigeration system shall be able to maintain a 32 degree temperature during peak summer load. The installed compressor shall use Refrigerant 22. Electric heaters shall be installed into an air handling unit (AHU) in each boxcapable of increasing dry bulb conditions within the box from 70 degrees Fahrenheit up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit within 3 hours. The heating system shall be able to maintain a 140 degree temperature during peak winter load. The Contractors proposal shall include equipment cut sheets, control cut sheets, control sequence of operations, construction cost estimate, and a proposed schedule identifying definable features of work and durations separately for each individual box. The anticipated amount is estimated between $50,000 and $100,000. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) for this Procurement is 1711 and the Small Business size Standard is $7.0. The Government anticipates awarding a single Firm Fixed Price Contract. The Request for Quotation will be available on our Web Site at http://www3.natick.army.mil.
