- Description
- Solicitation Number N00421-00- Q-0615 to be issued as a request for quote (RFQ). The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis, and will award the purchase order on a sole source basis with Rotating Precision Mechanisms, 8760 Shirley Ave., Northridge, CA 91324-3409 for the part numbers listed below, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. Rotating Precision Mechanisms is the sole manufacturer of equipment required to meet the Government's minimum requirements. RPM is the only company that can provide an AN/UPA-57 equivalent antenna system that is fully compatible with the Navy's AS-2188/U. This equipment is intended as a replacement for the AN/UPA-57 antenna pedestal group. The pedestal is used to simulate fleet requirements for test and evaluation efforts, and as a training tool for Navy technicians. The contract line item number and description is: CLIN 0001 Part Number RG-0512, AZ Rotator (Slave or Independent), (Qty 1 EA); CLIN 0002 Part Number CA-1004, Controller for 19" Rack Chassis, (Qty 1 EA); CLIN 0003 Cable Assembly 300 feet, (Qty 1 EA). Award is expected to be in Sep 2000. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. However, all information received from interested parties by 22 Sep 2000 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
