- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to purchase an automated immunohistochemical staining system on a sole source basis from DAKO Corporation. It is believed that the DAKO offers the only autostainer system that can perform multiple protocols simultaneously and dispense varying volumes (100-600 uL per slide) of antibodies and reagents on the slides as dictated by tissue size at varying user defined zones on the slide and incubates a minimum of 48 slides per run in a horizontal position at room temperature. These criteria are essential due to variability among slides received for testing from around the world and a need to conserve limited availability probes by reducing dispensed volumes on the tissues. Probe for reagent delivery must be Teflon-coated stainless steel and not be dependent on the use of pipette tips or reagent dispensers so that consumable waste is reduced. Furthermore, the autostainer must perform user defined custom protocols (open system programming) for research applications such that any manufacturer's reagents or custom reagents made for or by CDC can be used on the system. Vendors who can offer an identical product, meeting all specifications outlined above and at comparable price, may identify their interests in providing said equipment by submitting pricing data, an accurate, comprehensive description of the equipment offered, and make and model number of the equipment. Since no solicitation package exists, requests for such documents without accompanying information to establish the vendor's capability of meeting the Government's needs will be considered non-responsive to this synopsis. Only responses containing this data will be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Award will not be made on the basis of responses to this synopsis. If no feasible responses are received by the close of business 15 days from the date this notice appears in the CBD, a procurement will be named with the above-named source. This notice may represent the Government's only official notice of procurement.*****
