Description

The 99th Contracting Squadron at Nellis AFB, NV intends to enter into a SOLE SOURCE contract with Nevada Power Company. The requirement is for the following: Conduct and provide an engineering study. The engineering study shall consist of two separate studies, a feasibility study and a technical study concerning the procurement and installation of fiber-optical ground wire (OPGW) between Nellis Air Force Base and Indian Springs Air Force Auxiliary Field, Nevada. The feasibility study aspects center around the use of 108-strand fiber optical ground wire (OPGW), while the technical study aspects center around the actual cabling, connections, and other requirements associated with the enhanced fiber optic link, to include providing a detailed parts list including part numbers, stock numbers, and quantities necessary to complete the upgrade of an estimated 90 kilometers/56 miles of OPGW. The SIC code is 8711. The solicitiation will be issued as a request for proposal RFP under F26600-00-R-Z002. The solicitation will be available at www.eps.gov . Request for solicitation should be made no later than 4:00 P.M. (PST) on 13 Sep 00.
