NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Exposure Assessment Branch, HELD in Morgantown, WV has a need for a mobile modular gas analysis system, based on quadrupole mass spectrometry, with sub-ppm detection sensitivity and capability of directly sampling gas samples at atmospheric pressure. This system will be the foundation of a mobile continuous gas analysis system for development and characterization of gas or vapor sensor and worksite air assessment. Transportability, sufficient sensitivity and rapid turn-key operation are key issues. Our intent is to negotiate on a sole source basis with Pascal Technologies, Inc., Fredricksburg, VA for a Ferran Scientific Inc. miniaturized version of upgraded quadrupole mass filter residual gas analyzer (MMSDS-12-300-CR), a replacement analyzer unit (MPA-CF-Y-20), electronically controlled inlet system corrosion resistant turbo pump, corrosion resistant mechanical pump, purge control system, vacuum valves, vacuum hardware, electronic control modules (MMSDS-10-CR), 24 volt power supply (MMSDS-04), visual display controller (VDC-01) with remote communication capability, operation software, all interconnecting cables, and a manual. On-site installation and training will be included. There is no other known source available, however, if there are vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet the stated requirements, they are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures and references to Brenda L.
