Description
The Rechargeable Battery and Charging Systems contract DAAB07-95-D-G323 with Bren-Tronics Inc. of Commack, NY will be modified to extend the period of performance by three months, enabling continued performance from September 30, 2000 through December 31, 2000. This action is being taken as an interim measure to provide only for those requirements necessary to meet army requirements prior to the start of deliveries stemming from award of a contract under impending competitive solicitation. This is a sole source acquisition with Bren-Tronics Inc, authorized under 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Bren-Tronics is the only source able to deliver the required supplies for the US Army rechargeable battery program. They possess all drawings and production tooling for the rechargeable batteries, chargers and adapters that make up the US Army rechargeable battery program currently fielded as a logistic 'family'. A supply shortfall in rechargeable assets would have a harmfull impact on the Army mission. This notice is for information purposes and is not to be consideered a request for proposal. See Note 22.
